A Card Game for Two Players
This app offers three engaging card games: Four Cards Golf, Six Cards Golf, and Scat. You can choose your preferred game through the Settings menu.
Four Cards Golf Rules
Overview: Four Cards Golf is a strategic card game designed for two players, where the objective is to score as few points as possible, similar to the sport of golf.
Game Structure:
- Each game consists of nine rounds.
- At the start of each round, players receive 4 cards face down, arranged in a square layout. The remaining cards form a draw pile, with one card from this pile placed face up to start the discard pile.
Gameplay:
- Before the game begins, players may look at the two cards closest to them once. These cards must remain secret from the opponent. Players cannot look at these cards again unless they are discarded or scored.
- On their turn, players can draw a card from either the draw pile or the discard pile.
- If drawing from the draw pile, the card can replace any of the four cards in the player's layout. The replaced card goes to the discard pile face up, but the player cannot see its face before replacement.
- If drawing from the discard pile, the card must be used to replace a card in the layout, and the replaced card is discarded face up.
- Players can also choose to "knock," ending their turn and the round after other players complete their turns without knocking.
Scoring:
- Pairs of cards of the same value in a column or row score 0 points.
- Jokers are worth -2 points.
- Kings are worth 0 points.
- Queens and Jacks are worth 10 points.
- Other cards are scored according to their rank.
- Four cards of the same value score -6 points.
Six Cards Golf Rules
Overview: Six Cards Golf is another variation for two players, aiming to minimize points scored.
Game Structure:
- The game also consists of nine rounds.
- Each round begins with players receiving 6 cards face down, with the remaining cards forming a draw pile and one card starting the discard pile face up.
Gameplay:
- Initially, players must turn two of their cards face up.
- Players aim to reduce the value of their face-up cards by swapping them with lower-value cards or pairing them in columns with cards of equal rank.
- On their turn, players draw a card from either the draw pile or the discard pile. The drawn card can either be swapped with one of the player's cards (keeping the swapped card face up if it was face down) or discarded, ending the turn.
- The round ends when all of a player's cards are face up.
Scoring:
- Pairs of cards in a column score 0 points.
- Jokers are worth -2 points.
- Kings are worth 0 points.
- Queens and Jacks are worth 20 points.
- Other cards are scored according to their rank.
Game Mechanics:
- To swap a card with one from the discard pile, tap the desired card. To draw from the deck, tap the draw pile to reveal the card, then either discard it or swap it with one of your cards.
