Boerenbridge, also known as Chinese Pooping in Flanders, is a captivating card game that combines strategy and prediction. The goal is to accurately forecast the number of tricks you can win in each round, making it a thrilling test of your card-playing skills.
How to Play
Starting the Game:
- Each round begins with a specific number of cards dealt to every player. The number of cards increases by one each round, starting from one card in the first round, two in the second, and so on, until reaching the maximum number of cards possible based on the number of players. For example, with five players, the maximum is 10 cards per player. After reaching the maximum, the number of cards dealt decreases back to one card per player in the final round.
Bidding:
- Players, starting from the left of the dealer, predict how many tricks they expect to win. The highest bidder gets to choose the trump suit for that round.
Important Rule:
- The dealer, who bids last, must ensure that the total number of tricks bid by all players does not equal the total number of cards dealt in that round. For instance, if seven cards are dealt in a round, and the first three players bid 0, 3, and 2 tricks respectively, the dealer cannot bid 2 tricks because that would make the total equal to 7 (0 + 3 + 2 + 2 = 7).
Scoring:
- Points are awarded based on how accurately players predict their tricks. The player with the highest total points at the end of the game, after all rounds are completed, emerges as the winner.
