The popular food-themed RPG management game, The Tale of Food, is officially closing its doors. Initially launched in China in September 2019 (closed beta), and later distributed by Tencent Games, the game's servers will shut down on March 20th, 2025, at 10:00 AM (UTC+8).
The Tale of Food Shutdown Date:
The shutdown is scheduled for March 20th, 2025, at 10:00 AM (UTC+8). In-app purchases have been disabled as of February 18th, 2025, and new player registrations are no longer possible. The game has also been removed from the Google Play Store. Existing players can continue playing until the servers close on March 20th.
Refunds for In-Game Purchases:
Players who made in-game purchases between January 9th and February 18th, 2025, are eligible for a refund. Contact in-game support or email the developers before March 20th to initiate the refund process. Further details regarding the shutdown's terms and conditions can be found on the official The Tale of Food X (formerly Twitter) account.
Server Closures:
It's worth noting that the game's Japan server closed in April 2023, followed by the China server in June 2024. This global server closure marks the final chapter for The Tale of Food.
Community Remains:
While the game itself will be unavailable after March 20th, the official X, Facebook, and Discord communities will remain active, providing a platform for players to share memories and connect with fellow food enthusiasts.
