Earlier this year, Dell revitalized the iconic Alienware Area-51 lineup of prebuilt gaming PCs. Initially, configurations were limited to a single graphics card option—the RTX 5080. However, the latest update now allows you to equip your system with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, the most powerful graphics card currently available on the market. Excitingly, one of the preconfigured systems is currently on sale, offering significant savings.

It boasts an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz RAM, and 2TB SSD storage. The Core Ultra 9 285K, Intel's latest flagship CPU, delivers exceptional performance for both gaming and workstation tasks. While it doesn't surpass the i9-14900K as much as hoped, it remains Intel's top all-around CPU. The system is cooled by a robust 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler and powered by a 1,500W Platinum power supply.
New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis
Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis retains a similar look to the 2024 R16 system but features aesthetic and cooling redesigns along with updated components. The I/O panel has been moved to the top of the case, and the tempered glass window now covers the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side panel vents. Air intakes are now located at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that helps keep the interior less dusty. The internal components have been upgraded with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest generation of CPUs and GPUs.
The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 stands out as the most powerful consumer GPU available. While Nvidia has focused on software updates, AI features, and DLSS 4 technology to enhance gameplay, the RTX 5090 still offers a significant 25%-30% performance increase over the RTX 4090 in terms of raw raster performance. Additionally, it comes with more (32GB vs 24GB) and faster (GDDR7 vs GDDR6) VRAM. Due to high demand, the RTX 5090 is challenging to find at retail price, often selling for $3,500-$4,000 on eBay.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE Review by Jackie Thomas**
"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has officially surpassed the RTX 4090 in performance, though the generational leap is less pronounced than in previous releases. For traditional non-AI gaming, the RTX 5090 offers one of the smallest performance uplifts we've seen recently. However, in games that support DLSS 4, the performance gains are substantial, albeit with 75% of the frames being AI-generated."
