Whether you're a seasoned MMORPG player or a newcomer to the genre, diving into *Rune Slayer* can feel overwhelming. Fear not—we've crafted a comprehensive guide to help you embark on your adventure with confidence.
Rune Slayer Beginner Tips
Here are some insights we wish we had at the outset of our *Rune Slayer* journey, which would have smoothed our path considerably.
Do Not Randomly Attack Other Players

When we first heard about *Rune Slayer*'s full-loot PvP system, we braced for chaos. However, the reality is more forgiving. **When you die in *Rune Slayer*, you don't lose anything**, even in player confrontations. You simply respawn and continue your journey unscathed.
However, there's a catch. **Attacking other players places a bounty on your head**. The more you kill, the larger your bounty grows, and consequently, the more items you drop upon death. So, if you want to avoid turning *Rune Slayer* into a full-loot PvP scenario, refrain from attacking others unless you have a strategic reason or a group to support you.
Craft Bags ASAP

You'll quickly realize that your **bank space and inventory are limited**. With only 50 slots, your inventory can fill up faster than you might expect. To combat this, **craft bags as soon as possible**. You can equip up to two bags, starting with the **Cotton Bag**.
To craft a Cotton Bag, gather **Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south**. Be cautious in the south, as it's teeming with dangerous mobs. Each Cotton Bag adds an extra 10 slots to your inventory, so prioritize crafting them early on.
Your Pets Don’t Actually Die

A common misunderstanding is that your tamed pets die when their health reaches zero. In reality, **a pet that "dies" cannot be summoned for 5 minutes**. You can check this cooldown by holding **T**. Once the cooldown is over, hold **T** again to summon your pet back into action.
Bonus Tip: For a quick **pet heal**, simply store and unstore your pet at the stable master. You have one free slot, so make good use of it.
Grab All the Quests (Yes, All of Them)

*Rune Slayer* offers an abundance of quests, many of which are not repeatable and can blend together. Most follow the familiar "Kill 10 X" formula seen in many MMORPGs. To manage this efficiently, **accept every quest you encounter**, including those from the Job board. Completing multiple quests simultaneously is far more efficient than tackling them one by one. You might even find yourself completing several quests at once without realizing it.
Craft Everything at Least Once (Even Things You Don’t Need)

Prioritize crafting what you need, but if you have surplus materials, **experiment with crafting items you don't immediately need**. Crafting new items often **unlocks more advanced crafting recipes**. For instance, smelting your first Iron Ore unlocked a range of Iron Armor recipes for us. Don't hoard your materials—use them to discover new crafting possibilities.
Join a Guild
While *Rune Slayer* is accommodating for solo players, you'll encounter **tougher enemies** as you progress. These formidable foes, particularly those with large health bars, are designed for group combat. **Joining a guild** is the easiest way to find a group to tackle these challenges.
Use the in-game general chat to express your interest in joining a guild, or visit the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server to connect with a community. Having a guild can make all the difference when facing the game's toughest adversaries.
And that's it! Enjoy your journey in *Rune Slayer*. If you're yet to start, don't forget to check out the *Rune Slayer* Trello and Discord for more tips and community support.
