In Ivy Road and Annapurna Interactive's Wanderstop, players take on the role of Alta, a weary fighter seeking solace and recovery in the serene setting of a magical forest tea shop. As you manage this cozy retreat, you'll encounter a diverse clientele with unique requests, including some who crave coffee—a beverage not typically on the menu. Here's a detailed guide on how to unlock and brew coffee in Wanderstop.
Which Customers Want Coffee in Wanderstop?
(Ivy Road/Annapurna Interactive)
In the fourth cycle of Wanderstop, a striking humanoid bird visits the shop, seeking a refined cup of tea. Following her departure, a trio of businessmen named Jerry, Larry, and Terry arrive. Dressed in suits and carrying briefcases, they are en route to a boardroom for a presentation. Despite Alta's warning that they are off-course, they decline her offer of tea, insisting on coffee. They decide to wait at the shop until coffee becomes available.
Boro, the tea shop's owner, explains that coffee has never grown in this forest, leaving Alta initially frustrated. The situation changes with the arrival of Zenith, an interdimensional figure fascinated by the businessmen. Unlike them, Zenith is willing to try Alta's tea, marking their first experience with a beverage other than coffee.
How to Unlock Coffee Beans in Wanderstop
(Ivy Road/Annapurna Interactive)
To unlock coffee beans, you must serve Zenith a cup of tea infused with something valuable. This could be a book, a trinket, a pot, a mug, a small plant, or even a photograph. After tasting the unique tea, Zenith becomes curious about the differences between coffee and tea and asks Alta what's needed to brew coffee for the businessmen. Alta's mention of "coffee beans" sparks a revelation for Zenith.
Using their connection to the Infinite Path, Zenith brings coffee beans to the forest, allowing them to grow in the clearing for the first time. They also provide instructions on harvesting and brewing the beans, which are added to Alta's Field Guide.
How to Harvest and Brew Coffee in Wanderstop
After Zenith's intervention, coffee beans begin to grow wild in the clearing and respawn randomly. You can harvest them similarly to fruits and seeds, storing them in your ingredients pocket or carrying them by hand. They can also be placed on shelves, tables, floors, or the ground outside.
Before brewing, the beans must be cleaned. Place them in the dishwasher and wait for them to be delivered to the tea room via the dish trains.
To brew coffee, pour water into the tea maker and heat it as required. Add a single coffee bean to the infuser (though customers may request additional beans or other ingredients). Kick the gear to pour the water into the infuser, then into the kettle below. Finally, decant the brew into mugs to serve to customers, Boro, or Alta herself.
Serving coffee not only satisfies the businessmen but also delights Zenith and provides an alternative option for other customers. Even Boro is willing to give it a try, though he admits it's not to his taste.
That's how you unlock, harvest, and brew coffee in Wanderstop.
