If you're a fan of the classic murder-mystery game Clue, also known as Cluedo, you're in for a treat. Marmalade Game Studio has just released the 2016 Suspects Pack for the digital version, bringing back some beloved characters from that year's edition.
Who Are the 2016 Clue aka Cluedo Suspects?
The pack introduces the iconic characters from 2016: Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Reverend Green, Professor Plum, Dr. Orchid, and Mrs. Peacock. This addition allows players to use these characters in any scenario they desire, without being bound to specific crime scenes or case files. It's a chance to relive the nostalgia or mix and match with the newer 2023 cast for a unique gameplay experience.
The demand for these characters has been strong among fans, especially with the introduction of more modern characters in 2023. It's great to see Marmalade Game Studio responding to player feedback by bringing back these classic suspects.
There’s More Coming to the Game!
In addition to the 2016 Suspects, Clue aka Cluedo is introducing a new Retro Rules Set game mode, available for free. This mode harks back to the original 1949 rules, offering a nostalgic twist to the gameplay. Key features include starting tokens at specific board locations, with Miss Scarlet always taking the first move unless she's absent, in which case Colonel Mustard steps in.
The Retro Rules Set also changes how you make accusations—you must be in a room to do so, and Clue Cards are omitted entirely. Additionally, you can't move through squares occupied by other players, adding a strategic layer to the game.
