IGN obtained exclusive details from Behavior ahead of today’s public test build (PTB), revealing Springtrap’s FNAF-inspired powers and an innovative jump-scare mechanic—a first for Dead by Daylight’s asymmetrical horror gameplay.
The studio promises this crossover will be "one of the game’s largest yet," anchored by Springtrap (known in-game as The Animatronic), a sinister yellow rabbit wielding an axe. Though deeply rooted in FNAF lore, this marks his debut as a playable character, allowing Behavior creative freedom with his design.

Springtrap’s arsenal includes a pizza knife for standard attacks and a fire axe for his Power. The axe serves as an area-of-effect tool to expose Survivors, with well-timed throws enabling spine-chilling FNAF-style jump scares upon retrieval.
Elevating the crossover, Behavior secured Five Nights at Freddy’s movie star Matthew Lillard to voice The Animatronic’s Yellow Rabbit Legendary skin. Additional cosmetics include Glitchtrap, Clown/Toxic variants, and Freddy Fazbear-themed Survivor shirts.

While Springtrap fulfills years of fan requests, the Chapter also introduces Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria—a meticulously reimagined map featuring the restaurant’s iconic locations (Entrance, Kitchen, Dining Hall) with Entity-driven twists. Bonnie and Chica make cameos, alongside hidden Easter eggs and jump scares.
Survivors globally will encounter new security doors, cameras, and office areas across all maps, functionally mimicking FNAF’s surveillance mechanics—provided batteries last.
