Crytek Announces Restructuring, Layoffs, and Crysis Game Delay
Crytek has confirmed a significant restructuring, resulting in the layoff of approximately 60 employees – about 15% of its 400-person workforce. This follows reported financial difficulties.
Simultaneously, the company announced a temporary halt to development on the next Crysis game, a decision made in Q3 2024. Crytek is now focusing all its resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.
The studio explored reassigning affected staff to other projects, but ultimately determined layoffs were necessary despite cost-cutting measures. All departing employees will receive severance packages and career support.
