Hidden Portal #1: Az-Tech Trail
Midway through the level, you'll encounter a dark room with a wall surrounded by four lit torches. Use the Twin-Frog Gloves to extinguish the flames, and the wall will open, revealing the portal to the Lost Galaxy.
Hidden Portal #2: Creamy Canyon
Early in the level, you'll come across a snowy arena with a bouncing ladybug enemy. Move past it to find a charging pig. Grab the pig and swing it until the icy statue at the edge of the platform is targeted. Release the pig to destroy the statue, then backtrack to the ladybug, flip it over, and bounce up to a platform. Perform a charged spin attack to access a room containing the secret portal.
Hidden Portal #3: Go-Go Archipelago
After defeating Captain Pincher, look behind you to see his claw embedded in the ground, marked by a glowing light. Use a charged spin attack to drill into the ground and uncover a hidden room with the secret portal.
Hidden Portal #4: Downsize Surprise
Near the end of the level, you'll find a bubble-blowing frog. Blow into your controller to activate the frog, then shrink and ride a bubble up to a branch above the bot. Navigate to the opposite branch to discover the next secret portal.

This is one of the easiest portals to find. At the start of the level, turn around to see platforms with an electric enemy. Swim over and lure the enemy to electrocute the platforms, opening a wall to reveal the hidden portal.
Hidden Portal #6: Bathhouse Battle
Mid-level, locate the house with the flaming chimney. After absorbing water, climb to the roof and extinguish the flames. Then, descend through the chimney to find the secret portal.
Hidden Portal #7: Hieiroglitch Pyramid
At the level's end, turn right to see an area with falling jewels. Use the bounce pad to reach a hidden area, but be wary of a trap. Find hidden switches on two walls to open the path to the portal.
Hidden Portal #8: Balloon Breeze
This is the most challenging portal to locate. Acquire the puffer-fish power-up and backtrack to an early platform with a bouncing ladybug. Flip the ladybug, punch it toward the edge, bounce on it, and use the puffer-fish to hover to a distant platform. Use motion controls to cut down the surrounding bamboo and reveal the portal, which you must activate by running around its perimeter.
