The DOOM community's innovative spirit shines through again! A recent experiment saw NyanSatan successfully running the classic DOOM on Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter. This adapter, surprisingly, contains its own iOS-based firmware and a processor clocked at up to 168 MHz.
NyanSatan accessed the adapter's firmware and executed the game, utilizing a MacBook for data transfer due to the adapter's lack of internal memory.
Shifting gears to a new DOOM iteration, DOOM: The Dark Ages will offer players unprecedented control over the game's difficulty. A key design goal is accessibility, allowing players to adjust various parameters. This includes modifying demon aggression, enemy damage, projectile speed, damage taken, and even the overall game tempo and parry timing. This surpasses the customization options in previous id Software titles.
Executive producer Marty Stratton emphasizes the game's accessibility. He confirms that players can tweak enemy difficulty and damage output, providing a tailored experience. Furthermore, Stratton assures players that prior knowledge of DOOM: The Dark Ages isn't required to understand its storyline or that of DOOM: Eternal.
