Eldermyth Launches New Amalgam Mode in Update

Author : Sebastian Nov 06,2025
  • Introducing Amalgam Mode, where you can assemble your own unique beast
  • Two new preset beasts are now available
  • Lightning storms have been added to the game

Just a few months after its April launch, Eldermyth is already revitalizing its roguelike battleground. The new 1.4 update brings Amalgam Mode—a fresh take on the formula that lets you piece together your personalized beast.

Of course, it's not that simple. The most powerful abilities come with a price. To unlock them, you'll need to ramp up the challenge by applying tougher passive traits to your custom beast.

Along with the new mode, you'll also encounter two additional preset beasts to master: the Void Howler and the Grief-bound Invader. Each introduces new dynamics to the game's already rich web of powers, terrain types, and weather cycles. And speaking of weather—lightning storms are now part of the mix, adding further complexity to how beasts and invaders interact on the board.

For the uninitiated, Eldermyth is a strategic high-score chase where you control ancient guardian creatures. Your goal is to protect a mythical land from invaders attempting to mine, colonize, and conquer. The board evolves with procedurally generated terrain, weather affects gameplay, and each beast has unique traits. It’s turn-based, but don't expect a relaxed pace—every decision demands careful planning.

This update also includes a complete UI overhaul and a streamlined high-score screen to help you track progress across multiple runs. While Eldermyth intentionally keeps many mechanics unexplained for those who enjoy discovery, an in-game guide is available if you'd rather get right to the action.
