Rebel Wolves — the studio founded by The Witcher 3 game director and Cyberpunk 2077 co-director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz — has announced its dark fantasy action-RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker will launch in 2026.
During yesterday's Xbox Games Showcase, Rebel Wolves debuted pre-beta gameplay footage featuring Coen, "a man transformed into a Dawnwalker - human by day, vampire by night," as he struggles to master his newfound powers.
More revelations await on June 21 when Rebel Wolves hosts a special event on the year's longest day - when "the boundary between day and night dissolves, bringing unforeseen consequences." The 45-minute presentation will feature approximately 15 minutes of fresh gameplay footage with developer insights.
The event will showcase key gameplay mechanics, including:
- The hybrid combat system combining swordplay, magic, and vampiric abilities
- Exploration of Vale Sangora's diverse locations
- The dynamic day/night cycle that significantly impacts narrative and gameplay
"It's been wonderful finally sharing more about our game," Tomaszkiewicz stated. "When we first revealed it in January, we promised summer gameplay details - that time has now come. Join us June 21 to witness Coen's transformation into the Dawnwalker - a being straddling the realms of daylight and darkness."
In The Blood of Dawnwalker, players control Coen on his desperate 30-day quest to either save his family or take brutal vengeance on his creator. This morally complex journey forces players to question: is preserving your humanity worth the sacrifice when protecting loved ones?
