Tepes Ovidiu, an independent solo developer from Romania, has just released a new puzzle game. His earlier titles include the memory game Cessabit and the creatively titled Not Chess. His latest release, Is This Yours?, puts you behind the counter of a chaotic lost and found service.
As with most of his projects, Tepes Ovidiu single-handedly handled all aspects of this game. This includes the artwork, animations, and coding—a truly impressive feat. His new game takes an ordinary concept and transforms it into an unexpectedly fun experience.
Is This Yours?
In this game, you manage a bustling lost and found desk. Frantic individuals approach you, desperately hoping you can locate their misplaced belongings. The assortment of lost items is wildly varied, ranging from burritos and earbuds to passports and even a teddy bear that appears to be going through a complicated emotional phase.
Each customer request presents a small puzzle to solve. Your task is to identify the correct object based on their often unclear or downright absurd descriptions. You might help someone find their sunglasses, even if they're broken, or deal with even more peculiar requests.
You continually match people with their lost possessions. The process somehow creates a gameplay loop that is frantic, oddly touching, and genuinely hilarious all at once. Take a first look at Is This Yours? in the video below.
An Avalanche of Forgotten Items and Impatient Customers
In the fast-paced mode of Is This Yours?, you start with only three hearts. The quicker you successfully match an item, the more your reputation increases. However, as you advance, the volume of lost items grows, and the customers become increasingly impatient.
For a more relaxed experience, a Zen mode is available. This allows you to take your time and enjoy the matching process without the stress of angry customers or depleting hearts. It offers a calmer version of the core gameplay.
The game also features haptic feedback, achievements, and Game Centre leaderboards. It is a one-time purchase, meaning there are no advertisements, tracking, or data collection. You can download it for $1.99 on the Google Play Store.
