While rare, some games within long-running series evolve into standalone franchises. This phenomenon is common in JRPGs like Persona 5, and particularly true for Final Fantasy VII. Among its many spin-offs, the mobile RPG Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is now celebrating two years since its launch!
To commemorate this milestone, Square Enix is running a limited-time in-game event. Interestingly, it connects to another branch of the franchise - the popular CGI movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. From now until October 22nd, players can obtain exclusive gear and rewards themed around the film.
The most significant addition is undoubtedly Sephiroth's arrival. However, this isn't the more recent interpretation of the character. Instead, players will encounter the original, formidable version of Sephiroth making his debut in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis.

Cloud, Tifa, and Yuffie are receiving new Advent Children-inspired outfits, while Young Sephiroth gets gear inspired by Kadaj.
Current rewards include a 2nd Anniversary Gear Voucher redeemable for one gear item of your choice, with some exceptions - crossover and limited-edition gear are excluded. Players can also claim 200 Draw Tickets, 3 Reawakened: Limit Break Medals, 100 Stamina Tonics, Memoria of 2nd Anniversary, and various login bonuses.
What exactly is Memoria? This new equipment type can be assigned to party members to enhance their stats and unlock a new M. Ability move.
