Fans eager to dive into the early episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to jump into Fortnite to catch the series before its Disney+ debut. Epic Games has announced that the first two episodes of this eagerly awaited animated spinoff will premiere exclusively within Fortnite as part of the studio's ambitious plans for the upcoming Galactic Battle season, which is set to be packed with Star Wars-themed content.
Mark your calendars for May 2 at 10 a.m. ET, when you can experience the premiere of *Tales of the Underworld* on the Star Wars Watch Party island, featuring Asajj Ventress in the spotlight. This exclusive event precedes the show's Disney+ release by two days. Epic Games is encouraging fans to link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, rewarding eligible players with a First Order Stormtrooper outfit. While further benefits remain under wraps, Epic hints at more exciting perks on the horizon.“Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision,” said Epic Games President Adam Sussman. “We are reimagining what’s possible with immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world’s most beloved franchises - stay tuned for a lot more to come.”
The window to watch these first two episodes of Tales of the Underworld closes on May 11, after which the Star Wars Watch Party island will go offline. During this period, the island will also host a Battle Arena where players can engage in combat using lightsabers against waves of enemies. Viewers who watch both episodes will be rewarded with an exclusive Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld is a six-episode series, animated in the style of The Clone Wars, that follows the adventures of Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. The official synopsis hints at Ventress finding a new chance at life and a new ally, while Bane is forced to confront his past.
Disney's partnership with Fortnite goes beyond the Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, Disney acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, setting the stage for long-term collaboration. This move promises more joint ventures and the introduction of additional Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar outfits in the popular battle royale game. Anticipated highlights for the next season include Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.
Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has maintained its dominance in the gaming world, bolstered by collaborations like the recent Sabrina Carpenter crossover, which saw players trading their pickaxes for dancing shoes.
