Ghost of Yōtei New Trailer
Coming on October 2, 2025
PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have officially announced that Ghost of Yōtei, the much-anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, will hit the shelves on October 2, 2025. The announcement was accompanied by a thrilling new trailer titled "The Onryō’s List," which provides a glimpse into the game's narrative and gameplay. This trailer not only showcases the compelling story but also teases the release date at its conclusion.
Ghost of Yōtei takes players on a gripping journey with protagonist Atsu, set in the heart of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), as she seeks vengeance against the notorious Yōtei Six, who brutally murdered her family and left her for dead. Her mission is to hunt down each member of the group: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.
This standalone sequel is set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. Earlier this year, the developers shared insights into the game’s innovative features, including a wide array of new weapons and mechanics, building upon the foundation laid by its predecessor.
Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way
In Ghost of Yōtei, players have the freedom to choose the order in which they pursue the Yōtei Six, allowing for a personalized path of revenge. Sucker Punch detailed these features in a PlayStation.blog post on April 23, offering deeper insights into Atsu’s journey and the game's structure.
The game introduces an evolved open-world exploration system, providing more freedom and variety than Ghost of Tsushima. Beyond the main quest of hunting the outlaws, players can engage in various activities in the expansive region of Ezo. As stated in the blog post, "Atsu can also track other dangerous targets and claim bounties, or seek out weapon sensei to learn new skills."
Returning fans will enjoy familiar activities, such as the beloved "Guiding Wind" feature. Additionally, a new mechanic allows players to build campfires anywhere in the open world, enhancing the sense of freedom and immersion. The developers are focused on giving players the utmost freedom in exploring the vast land of Ezo and are excited to reveal more details in the coming months.
