In a detailed PlayStation.Blog post, Sony unveiled its comprehensive plans for celebrating the 20th anniversary of the God of War series. The Dark Odyssey update, arriving as a free patch on March 20, is the centerpiece of these celebrations. This update introduces a sleek black-and-gold aesthetic to the game, enhancing the visual appeal of Kratos and his companions as they navigate through the rich tapestry of Norse mythology.
The update not only includes cosmetic sets for Atreus and Freya but also revamps a variety of shields and weapons. However, the star of the show is undoubtedly the Dark Odyssey appearance and armor set for Kratos, inspired by a legendary skin from God of War 2 that was exclusive to players who conquered the game on God Mode difficulty. Players can access this coveted content through any Lost Items chest in the base game or instantly in the roguelike Valhalla mode once the update is live. Additionally, the patch introduces the much-anticipated feature of customizing Kratos’ weapons' appearance without affecting their abilities.
