Playing cricket in a tight alley, or "gully," often brings more excitement than a traditional field game, especially in India. This unique experience has inspired 5th Ocean Studios, an indie Indian game developer, to launch their latest cricket game, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, in Open Beta on Android.
Not Your Typical Cricket Simulation
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket breaks the mold with its 4v4 multiplayer format, set right in the heart of Indian gullies—narrow alleys bustling with life. This groundbreaking game is the first of its kind, offering a street cricket experience complete with rooftop catches, scooters as obstacles, and even the occasional shout from nosy uncles warning you about broken windows. Adding to the fun, players can also enjoy 1v1 matches.
The game lets you execute powerful moves and communicate with your gang using voice chat, enabling you to banter, sledge, drop emojis during the match, and even indulge in some sneaky tactics. The settings are authentic Indian neighborhoods, where you'll encounter live action around you, from playing with broken stumps and makeshift pitches to dealing with unpredictable bounces off uneven walls.
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket also boasts extensive customization options. Players can build their gang, dress them in funky outfits, and unlock various skins to stand out on the gully.
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket Now in Open Beta
5th Ocean Studios is committed to enhancing the game with upcoming updates, including new street maps, fresh outfits, regular events, clan wars, and even an esports mode. Players can look forward to leaderboards, daily and weekly challenges, and intense gang vs. gang matchups.
Currently available only on Android, the studio plans to expand to iOS and Steam, with full controller support and cross-platform features on the horizon. If you're eager to dive into the world of street cricket, you can download Gully Gangs: Street Cricket from the Google Play Store.
