League of Legends Hextech Chest Brought Back After Fan Feedback

League of Legends is bringing back Hextech Chests after receiving significant fan feedback. Dive in to discover more about the upcoming update and what's on the horizon for LoL.

League of Legends Reverses Unpopular Changes

Hextech Chests Are Returning

League of Legends (LoL) is set to reinstate Hextech Chests following a wave of fan feedback. On February 27, 2025, Riot Games shared a detailed developer update on their website and released a corresponding video on their YouTube channel.

LoL acknowledged that their recent changes didn't meet fan expectations, stating, "Recently, we’ve made a number of changes that didn’t hit the mark for everyone. We’ve been listening to your feedback, and it’s clear that there are areas where we need to adjust."

A standout change fans were eager to see reversed was the removal of Hextech Chests. LoL explained, "It’s clear that for many of you, Hextech Chests weren’t just a way to get stuff; they were an important part of making your time in League feel rewarding. We didn’t fully grasp how much this mattered to you, and that led us to make changes that missed the mark."

Responding to this, Hextech Chests will make their comeback in patch 25.05. Players will be able to earn up to 10 chests and keys per act, with 8 available through the free pass and the remaining 2 obtainable via the Honor system.

Exalted Mordekaiser Delayed and More Fan Feedback Changes

Riot Games has also announced a delay for the upcoming Exalted Mordekaiser skin, as the team aims to "take more time to make sure it better delivers on its core fantasy." This delay extends to the entire Exalted skin line, meaning fans won't see a new skin every Act this year as originally planned.

In response to more fan feedback, LoL will replace one of the non-Prestige skins with 25 Mythic Essence, addressing concerns about a lack of Mythic Essence on the paid Pass and the frequency of new champion skins for each seasonal theme.

To enhance player accessibility, LoL is also reducing the Blue Essence cost for all champions by 50% starting with patch 25.05, following discussions about blue essence and champion shards.

Another reversal involves Clash, which was previously scheduled to run less frequently. Now, LoL is reinstating Clash's monthly schedule, with March's event featuring ARURF and a regular Summoner's Rift Clash in April.

Blue Essence Emporium and Your Shop Returns

Responding to fan demand, LoL is bringing back the beloved Your Shop and Blue Essence Emporium. Your Shop is set to return in patch 25.06, followed by the Emporium in 25.07.

Riot Games emphasized their commitment to continuous improvement, stating, "We know getting League to the right place isn’t about just one set of changes. It’s about continually refining and improving the game in ways that make it better. We think today’s updates are an important step, and we’ll keep tracking how these changes feel, talking with all of you about how things are landing, and making adjustments."

With these responsive changes, Riot Games demonstrates their dedication to listening to their community and adapting the game to better suit their audience.
