Thailand may be worlds away from Hogwarts, but that hasn't stopped Jason Isaacs, star of The White Lotus Season 3, from weighing in on who should step into his iconic role as Lucius Malfoy in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV series. In a recent interview with Variety, the What If...? voice actor threw an intriguing name into the ring: Meryl Streep.

"She can do anything, that woman. There's literally no limit to what she can do," Isaacs praised Streep. Known for her versatility, Streep has previously taken on a male role in the HBO miniseries adaptation of Angels in America, where she played an elderly male rabbi among other characters. This showcases her capability to possibly bring Lucius Malfoy to life with the same flair Isaacs did.

"I wouldn't have any advice at all. Why would I bother?" he stated confidently. He's aware of some of the casting choices already and believes they are "brilliant actors" who will make the series "fantastic" without any input from him.

Isaacs first portrayed Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and continued to play the character through to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. As for the new adaptation, only one casting has been confirmed so far.
