KEMCO's latest Android release, Novel Rogue, is a captivating pixel-art fantasy JRPG and roguelite experience. This card-deck building adventure immerses players in a world brimming with magic, strategic combat, and intriguing narratives.
Players assume the role of Wright, a young apprentice under the tutelage of Yuisil, the Witch of Portals, within the Ancient Library. Wright's journey unfolds as he delves into the stories contained within four magical books, each transporting him to a unique and distinct world.
One book leads to a quest assisting a princess knight in reclaiming her fallen kingdom, while another plunges players into the enigmatic mysteries of the underworld. The dynamic nature of the game ensures that player choices significantly impact these worlds, guaranteeing a fresh and varied experience with each playthrough.
Gameplay Mechanics:
Novel Rogue features a turn-based card battle system that adapts to the specific book being explored. Each of the four worlds offers its own unique deck-building mechanics. After each battle, players select three new cards to enhance their deck, crafting a powerful and personalized strategy.
The game incorporates a "Change" command, allowing players to strategically redistribute damage among their allies. "Novel Power," fueled by ink, provides a means to strengthen the deck. For a more challenging experience, the "Deep Record" mode significantly increases dungeon difficulty, rewarding skilled players with high-stakes battles.
Exploration rewards players with treasures that can be gifted to characters, fostering relationships and potentially unlocking special endings. "Witch Stones" offer a cosmetic element, enabling players to customize character costumes.
Novel Rogue is available now on the Google Play Store as a free-to-play title. A premium version is also offered, providing 150 bonus Witch Stones and additional benefits, such as an ad-free experience.
