While many fans believed Patch 7 would be the last major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios has exciting news: another substantial update is set for release in 2025. This update will not only introduce crossplay support and a photo mode but also enrich the gameplay with 12 new subclasses, each bringing unique mechanics to the game.
Details about four of these subclasses have already been shared, and now we're diving into the remaining ones:
Oath of the Crown Paladin: This subclass is dedicated to upholding justice and order, prioritizing the welfare of society. The Oath of the Crown Paladin wields the Divine Devotion ability, which not only absorbs incoming damage to protect allies but also restores their health in the process.
Arcane Archer: Combining martial prowess with arcane magic, the Arcane Archer uses enchanted arrows that can blind, weaken, or even temporarily exile enemies to the Feywild. If an arrow misses its intended target, the Arcane Archer can cleverly adjust its flight path to strike another enemy.
Drunken Master Monk: Incorporating alcohol into their fighting techniques, the Drunken Master Monk can intoxicate foes, leaving them disoriented while simultaneously boosting their own abilities. A signature move, Instant Sobriety, can be used on an intoxicated target to deal both physical and mental damage.
Swarmkeeper Ranger: Harnessing the power of nature, the Swarmkeeper Ranger forms alliances with swarms of creatures. These swarms not only shield the ranger from harm but also assist with teleportation. In combat, the ranger can deploy three types of swarms: electric jellyfish clusters, blinding moth clouds, and stinging bee legions that knock back enemies failing a strength check by 4.5 meters.
This upcoming update promises to add depth and variety to Baldur's Gate 3, enhancing the gaming experience with these innovative new subclasses.
