Longvinter, after a three-year journey through early access on Steam, has officially launched version 1.0! This release incorporates extensive player feedback and bug fixes, delivering a revitalized experience for both veterans and newcomers.
This major update introduces a significant gameplay element: oil rigs scattered throughout the archipelago. Players can now extract oil, process it into fuel, and engage in intense battles against LRI mercenaries guarding crucial supply routes. New dynamic events further enhance gameplay, including helicopter crashes offering valuable tactical gear and an underground arena providing hourly combat opportunities for lucrative rewards.
The game world has expanded significantly with the addition of diverse wildlife, including lynxes, wolves, wolverines, foxes, moose, and goats – all tamable and rideable. A wealth of new items has also been added, ranging from stat-boosting hats and tactical vests to an array of weapons, explosives, culinary recipes, and interactive building/decorating objects such as oil refineries, refrigerators, microwaves, power poles, and turrets. Weapon balancing has also undergone substantial revisions.
Future plans include the highly anticipated 1.1 update, featuring farming mechanics, an improved tutorial, apartment rentals, and shared community features. Furthermore, Longvinter's console debut on PlayStation is confirmed for 2026, broadening its player base beyond the PC community.
