Moon Knight to Return, No Season 2 Planned, Says Marvel Exec

Marvel enthusiasts can look forward to seeing more of Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight in the MCU, though not through a second season of the Disney+ series. According to Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, the strategy behind Marvel's TV shows has evolved since the release of Moon Knight in 2022. Initially, the plan was to introduce characters through standalone shows that would later tie into broader MCU projects, as seen with Ms. Marvel leading into The Marvels.

However, Marvel Television is now shifting towards a more conventional TV model, focusing on shows designed for annual releases. Winderbaum shared, "So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future. And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road."

While fans enjoyed Isaac's voice acting as Moon Knight in the third and final season of the animated series Marvel’s What If…?, there's no confirmed news yet on his return to live action.

The MCU's upcoming TV lineup includes highly anticipated shows like Daredevil: Born Again, set to premiere in March, followed by Ironheart in June, Eyes of Wakanda in August, Marvel Zombies in October, and Wonder Man in December.

In other news, Marvel Television recently paused development on three shows: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. However, Winderbaum hinted at exciting prospects, revealing that the company is exploring the possibility of bringing back the street-level heroes Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, collectively known as The Defenders.
