Nintendo has unveiled a list of Switch 1 games that will receive complimentary performance upgrades on the upcoming Switch 2, detailing the specific improvements players can anticipate.
Titles including ARMS, Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet, Super Mario Odyssey, and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom are all scheduled to receive performance enhancements on the new console.

By connecting your Nintendo Switch 2 to the internet and performing a system update, you can download free updates for selected games that may improve graphics or add support for features such as GameShare. The contents of these free updates will differ depending on the game.
It is important to note that these enhancements are provided at no extra cost and are separate from the premium Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrades. In the case of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, these upgrades are available for free to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.
So, what enhancements can Switch 2 owners look forward to? For example, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will benefit from enhanced image quality on high-resolution TVs and a smoother framerate for improved gameplay fluidity.
Super Mario Odyssey, meanwhile, gains HDR support and GameShare functionality, enabling two players to cooperate online with one controlling Mario and the other controlling Cappy. Complete details are provided below.
Interestingly, Nintendo's list does not address framerate improvements for the two top-down Zelda titles, a surprising and disappointing oversight given their known performance issues.
