Attention all Death Stranding enthusiasts! The wait for the sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, is almost over, with its release slated for June 2025. The face of the franchise, Norman Reedus, recently dropped some exciting hints about the upcoming game and the future film adaptation during an interview with IGN. Reedus expressed his openness to reprising his role in the film version, which is currently in its early stages of development under the direction of Michael Sarnoski and production by A24. "If it was an option, yeah, for sure," he stated, though he admitted that the project is still very much in its infancy.
Reedus also shared his experience working with the visionary creator Hideo Kojima on the sequel. Despite the complexity of Kojima's concepts, Reedus trusts him implicitly. "As far as working with him and understanding where his head’s at, I don’t think anybody can understand where his head’s at," he remarked, highlighting Kojima's unique and innovative approach to storytelling. Reedus noted that the sequel will feature more action and a clearer narrative direction compared to the first game, ensuring a more engaging experience for players.
Regardless of the twists and turns in the Death Stranding universe, Reedus remains enthusiastic about his involvement. "It’s always a trip working on those things," he shared with IGN, underscoring the thrilling yet unpredictable nature of working on Kojima's projects.
