Following the leak, the Virtuos website has become nearly inaccessible, with most pages outside the main landing page being taken down. Despite this, the leaked content has spread rapidly across the internet, providing a clear glimpse into what players can expect from this remaster.
According to VGC, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is a collaborative effort between Virtuos and Bethesda's studios in Dallas and Rockville. Virtuos, known for their work on various game remasters such as The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition, is spearheading this project.
The remastered version is expected to launch on PC, Xbox Series X|S (available via Game Pass), and PlayStation 5. A Deluxe Edition is also on the cards, which will include exclusive bonuses like unique weapons and the iconic horse armor—a playful reference to the controversial 2006 DLC.
Rumors about an Oblivion remaster have been circulating since documents leaked during the Microsoft-FTC trial in 2023. Subsequent reports have only fueled speculation, with some even suggesting a surprise release as early as this month.
Although no official statement or reveal has been made yet, the extensive details and visuals now available suggest that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is indeed on its way and could be arriving sooner than expected.
