Max has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, intensifying its ties to the Superman narrative by introducing Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner right from the outset. The trailer opens with Sean Gunn portraying Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl conducting a rather dismissive interview with John Cena's character, Peacemaker, regarding his potential inclusion in a superhero team. The interview goes south quickly, leaving Peacemaker visibly dejected as he exits the building.
This trailer offers fans their first glimpse of these supporting characters, who are also slated to appear in James Gunn's upcoming Superman film.

Peacemaker Season 2 is set to premiere on August 21, following the release of Superman on July 11, marking it as the third installment in the new DCU, which was launched with the Creature Commandos TV series last year.
James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran are steering the DCU away from the criticized DC Extended Universe, which included films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, certain elements from the DCEU will persist in the new universe. Peacemaker serves as a prime example, having debuted in the DCEU with its first season and now transitioning to the DCU for its second.
James Gunn has stated that "many strands will remain consistent as far as Peacemaker's story goes," though it's still uncertain which aspects will carry over from the DCEU to the DCU. He has confirmed that the entire Team Peacemaker will return with the original cast, including John Cena as the lead, alongside Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo.Furthermore, Gunn has revealed that the events of Peacemaker Season 2 will take place after both Creature Commandos and Superman, with the latter's events directly impacting Peacemaker's storyline.
