Developed by Kautki Cave and published by Untold Tales, Flame Keeper is a fresh roguelite now available on Android. Initially announced in December 2022, the game launched on PC in June 2024 after an early access release on Steam in December 2023.
Sacrifice Your Life Force to Advance
In Flame Keeper, you play as Ignis, a sentient ember tasked with reigniting the Eternal Flame throughout the decaying world of Orbis. Though skilled in combat, Ignis must use his own health—his life force—to power each Fire Camp. So as he returns light to the world, he is gradually consuming himself in the process.
The game features punch combos, flame dashes, area stomps, multi-enemy finishers, and more. Stamina is both your constant ally and your main constraint. Mismanage it, and you’ll soon be encircled and vulnerable.
Each biome grows more challenging, with increasingly diverse enemies that demand constant adaptation. The Bestiary helps by slowly uncovering enemy strengths and weaknesses, though many lessons will still be learned through trial and error.
Progression focuses on customizing Ignis through active skills and passive abilities. Defeating enemies yields seeds used to unlock new attacks, while completing specific tasks rewards runes—opening vast possibilities for unique builds.
One standout feature is Vulpis Village, which welcomes you at the start of each stage. This evolving hub reflects your progress and allows you to upgrade abilities and structures using resources gathered on your journey.
