The 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) has kicked off, marking the start of the year's first international PUBG Mobile Esports event. With an impressive registration of over 90,000 competitors, the Open Qualifiers, which began on February 13th, are providing a platform for new talent to showcase their skills and vie for a coveted spot in the PMGO Main Event.
A substantial $500,000 prize pool is up for grabs, setting the stage for intense competition across multiple rounds. This tournament, exclusively open to amateurs, is designed to highlight and nurture fresh talent in the PUBG Mobile Esports scene.
Teams that include at least one Ultimate 500-ranked player from Cycle 7 Season 20 or 21 have automatically advanced to Round 2 of the Open Qualifiers. Over the coming weeks, emerging squads will battle fiercely for a chance to move on to the PMGO Prelims, where they will face off against the top performers from the Uzbekistan Offline Qualifiers.
From the Prelims, twelve teams will earn the opportunity to challenge the elite of PUBG Mobile in the PMGO Main Event. Four professional teams, Regnum Carya, Nigma Galaxy, 4Merical Vibes, and Influence Rage, have already secured their spots based on their stellar performances at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2024. Additionally, four more teams will qualify through regional competitions, including the PMSL SEA Spring, PMGO Korea Qualifier, and the Peacekeeper Elite League Spring season.
The Open Qualifiers are scheduled to continue until March 2nd, with the Prelims set for April 10th-11th, leading directly into the Main Event on April 12th-13th. This tournament is just the beginning of a packed year for PUBG Mobile Esports, with the PUBG Mobile World Cup and the PMGC slated to follow later in 2025.
