Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have just released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update is a breath of fresh air for fans of the classic schoolyard sandbox game, exclusively available on mobile platforms.
Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!
The Bully: Anniversary Edition update brings a host of new features and fixes. Here's what's new:
- New Languages: The update now supports additional languages, making the game more accessible to a global audience.
- Stability Improvements and Bug Fixes: Rockstar has focused on enhancing the overall stability of the game, ensuring a smoother experience.
- Temporary Disable of Friends Challenges: To refine the gameplay experience, Friends Challenges are temporarily unavailable.
- Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO): Android users with compatible devices can now enjoy enhanced visual effects with SSAO.
- Updated App Icon and Haptic Feedback: Both Android and iOS platforms have received an updated app icon and added haptic feedback for a more immersive experience.
Several mission-specific issues have been addressed, including:
- 'That Bitch': Fixed the issue where Mandy’s locker couldn't be picked.
- 'Weed Killer': Resolved the problem where the mission wouldn’t progress if the window was broken too early.
- 'The Rumble': Fixed the glitch where police cars would fall through the floor.
Other improvements include:
- Combat Fixes: Enemies now properly engage Jimmy in fights, eliminating one-sided encounters.
- Crash Fixes: Resolved crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.
What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?
The fanbase has been vocal about their desire for Bully 2, but it seems Rockstar has other priorities. Although a sequel was reportedly in development during the 2010s, it was shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim, especially with many original developers having left Rockstar.
While the new update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it represents a significant upgrade for mobile players. If you're new to the series, Bully offers a unique Rockstar experience where you step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of Bullworth Academy with humor and mischief.
You can grab Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, and it comes with full gamepad support, enhancing your gameplay on mobile devices.
