Rumor: Switch 2 Leak Reveals Possible Joy-Con Images

Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons Leaked: Magnetic Connection and New Design Revealed

Recent leaks suggest we're getting closer to an official unveiling of the Nintendo Switch successor. New images circulating online purportedly show the Joy-Cons for the upcoming Switch 2, offering a clear look at their design and functionality. While 2025 still holds Switch game releases, the original console's lifespan may be nearing its end, with Nintendo confirming a reveal before the close of their 2024 fiscal year. Anticipation is high, fueling a surge in Switch 2 rumors.

With a rumored March 2025 launch, leaks regarding the Switch 2's specs and features are abundant. Many hardware rumors stem from third-party developers and insiders who claim to possess accurate photos of the console. Information about the Joy-Cons' retention and color schemes has also surfaced. The latest leak, originating from a Chinese social media platform and shared on r/NintendoSwitch2 by user SwordfishAgile3472, provides the clearest images yet of the Switch 2's Joy-Cons.

These images showcase the back and side of a left Joy-Con, confirming the rumored magnetic connection. Unlike the original Switch's rail system, these controllers appear to use magnets for attachment, eliminating physical contact.

Decoding the Switch 2 Joy-Con Leak

The leaked images reveal a predominantly black Joy-Con with blue accents, mirroring the original's color scheme but with a reversed emphasis. The blue is more prominent on the magnetic connection area. The photos also offer a glimpse at the button layout, showing noticeably larger "SL" and "SR" buttons, and a mysterious third button on the back, possibly designed to release the magnetic connection.

These Joy-Con details align with other recent leaks and mockups of the Switch 2 console. However, until Nintendo provides official confirmation, these remain speculative.
