Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Super Thin and Now Available

Author : Ava Jun 02,2025

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge, its latest flagship smartphone, during the highly anticipated May Unpacked event. Boasting a sleeker profile compared to the Galaxy S25 released earlier in 2025, the new design truly gives the device an "Edge."

In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge mirrors its counterpart, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, quite closely. It runs on the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and sports a 200MP camera system. However, the standout feature lies in its chassis, which has been refined to a mere 5.8mm thickness, significantly slimmer than the 8.2mm of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Naturally, this reduction in size translates to a lighter weight, now tipping the scales at just 163 grams.

Despite its compact frame, the Galaxy S25 Edge retains the same 6.7-inch AMOLED 2X display as its predecessor, offering a viewing experience comparable to the slightly larger 6.9-inch panel of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Durability remains a key consideration given the phone’s slim build and expansive dimensions. To tackle this challenge, Samsung has fortified the casing with the upgraded Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, promising enhanced resilience over the Gorilla Glass Armor 2 used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While drops remain a concern, the real worry revolves around potential damage from accidental bends—time will tell if Samsung has succeeded in avoiding a repeat of past issues.

Equipped with the latest iteration of Samsung’s "Mobile AI" suite, introduced initially with the Galaxy S24 and further refined in 2025, the Snapdragon 8 Elite enables significant local processing capabilities. This advancement bolsters user privacy while maintaining robust functionality. However, cloud-based AI applications continue to dominate the market, leaving room for improvement in offline experiences.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is now available for preorder, priced at $1,099 for the 256GB variant and $1,219 for the 512GB version. Customers can choose between three elegant color options: Titanium Silver, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Icyblue.

Samsung aims to reassure users of the phone’s durability despite its slender form factor. Only time will reveal whether their efforts meet expectations.
