The Sony Bravia XR X93L, launched in March 2023, stands as the second highest-end non-OLED TV in Sony's lineup, just below the X95L, which was only available in an 85" screen size in the US. The X93L utilizes Mini LED technology, renowned for its superior handling of HDR content. Mini LED technology features an array of smaller, more numerous LEDs that can independently turn on and off, enhancing black levels and contrast ratios for a more dynamic viewing experience.
This TV is also a stellar choice for gamers. It comes equipped with four HDMI ports, two of which support HDMI 2.1 specifications. HDMI 2.1 allows for 4K output at up to 120Hz, making it ideal for next-generation consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, however, will be limited to 60fps in 4K when docked, so HDMI 2.1 isn't necessary for that system.
