Amazon Resale currently offers the PlayStation Portal in Used: Like New condition for just $150.23, a significant 25% off its original retail price of $199. While a Sony warranty may not be included, you still benefit from Amazon's standard 30-day return policy. Given its popularity, we anticipate these units will sell out quickly.

Update: The price has now dropped to $150.23, marking the lowest price we've seen for a Used: Like New unit.

Looks and functions as if it were new. Moderate packing damage observed during inspection.

The PlayStation Portal, designed as a handheld gaming accessory for the PS5, resembles an extended split-pad DualSense controller with an 8-inch 1080p LCD screen. It transforms your PS5 into a portable gaming device, allowing you to stream games at up to 60fps. The controller retains the DualSense's features like haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a touchscreen interface in place of the touchpad. While it can stream games even outside your home, a very stable and fast internet connection is essential. Remember, the PS Portal is not a standalone device; it requires a PS5 to function.

Update: You no longer need a PS5 to play games on the PS Portal. Sony has introduced a feature allowing owners to stream games directly from its PlayStation Now cloud streaming service. This means you can access a library of over 120 games, including titles like Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 3 Remake, The Last of Us Part 1 Remastered, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, without needing a PS5. To use this feature, you must subscribe to the highest tier of PlayStation Plus, which costs $18 a month, a more affordable option compared to purchasing a $500 console and additional games.

It's worth noting that the PlayStation Portal isn't the only way to stream PS5 games over Wi-Fi at home. You can achieve similar functionality with the PS Remote Play app on a mobile device or other gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck. However, setting it up is more complex, and you might miss out on some DualSense features.

PlayStation Portal Review by Seth Macy**

"The PlayStation Portal is surprisingly delightful. It offers a better experience than using a phone with a controller attachment and performs better than expected. It provides the freedom to play my PS5 from anywhere with decent WiFi, which is great when the TV is occupied. However, it's not a standalone device and requires a PlayStation 5 to work. The main drawbacks are its inability to connect to WiFi networks that need a web browser for login and its lack of Bluetooth support for audio. Despite these limitations, it's the best current solution for PlayStation Remote Play and a must-own for PS5 owners who enjoy handheld gaming or share their TV."
