EA Unveils Battlefield Labs: Your Chance to Shape the Future of Battlefield
EA has launched Battlefield Labs, offering players a unique opportunity to influence the development of the next Battlefield game. This isn't your typical beta; it's an invitation to participate in early, work-in-progress playtests and provide direct feedback to the developers at Battlefield Studios.
What is Battlefield Labs?
Battlefield Labs is a new program designed to gather crucial player feedback. Selected participants will get "inside the war room," experiencing unfinished gameplay and providing insights on combat mechanics, map design, balance, and more. EA will initially focus on a few thousand players in Europe and North America, with plans for broader global expansion. The program will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Battlefield Labs vs. Beta Testing:
Unlike traditional betas, Battlefield Labs offers access to highly unfinished game content. Expect bugs, rough edges, and technical issues. The goal is to gather feedback on core gameplay elements, not polished performance. Participants will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to maintain confidentiality.
How to Join Battlefield Labs and Get Early Access:
- Visit the Battlefield Labs webpage.
- Log in or create an EA account and link it to your preferred gaming platform. Be prepared for a potential queue; you'll have a 15-minute window to access the site once your turn arrives.
- Complete the registration form and provide your email address.
- Keep an eye on your inbox for updates from the Battlefield Labs newsletter, including playtest invitations.
The next Battlefield game is slated for release in EA's FY26 (before April 1, 2026). Your feedback through Battlefield Labs could directly impact its final form.
