“Good morning grandkids. This is Oblivion Remastered,” Curry greets her loyal audience at the start of the stream. “I am finally out of all that creepy jail and dungeon and sewers—ugh, that whole mess you have to crawl through for what feels like forever before finally stepping into the real world. This is the first thing I see.”
Curry is navigating the game with her signature charm and humor, though she admits it's taking some getting used to. From figuring out how to switch to third-person camera mode to mastering movement and controls, she’s leaning heavily on her chat for guidance. And yes—lockpicking is proving to be quite the challenge. But let’s be honest, it’s a pain point for just about every player who’s ever picked up an iron lockpick.

In a follow-up video titled “Oblivion Remastered #2 Still Learning,” Curry continues her early-game experience, candidly admitting, “I guess you’re gonna have to hear an awful lot of complaining from me.” She finds herself in a goblin-infested cave crawling with giant rats, but remains upbeat despite the chaos.

Throughout both videos, viewers can see the supportive spirit of the community shining through. Fans are flooding the comments with helpful advice, guiding Curry through the basics of gameplay and beyond.
One fan writes:
"Wow, Grandma Shirley! Welcome to TES4!!!”
Curry responded with a heart emoji, clearly touched by the warm welcome.
Another detailed tip reads:
"If you use keyboard, you can change from 1st Person to 3rd Person by clicking the mouse wheel button. On controller, it's the same as Skyrim: click the right joystick. Lockpicking is the worst in Oblivion! I just spam the auto attempt until I reach level 10. If I run out of lockpicks, I go to Nocturnal's Shrine and do her quest to be rewarded with the unbreakable Skeleton Key. Auto attempt to successfully unlock then becomes simple! There are also open lock spells, and a doom stone (like a standing stone in Skyrim) that will give you a lesser power to open a lock once a day. It's the Tower Stone. You have to activate it at night, and you can see it glowing from the Waterfront area of the Imperial City."
And another comment notes:
"Glad to see your [sic] starting to get the hang of it Shirley, if you click wait you can choose what time of day you'd like but you can't near enemies."
Curry gave a shoutout to the commenter, thanking them for the useful suggestion.

While last year Curry briefly stepped away from content creation after nearly a decade of sharing her Skyrim adventures, it seems the call of Tamriel was too strong to resist for long. Her legacy within the Elder Scrolls universe is already legendary. She has earned widespread admiration from fans and even official recognition from Bethesda Softworks.
Thanks to a passionate fan campaign, Curry was promised a special tribute in The Elder Scrolls VI, where she’ll appear as an NPC in the upcoming title—a fitting honor for such a beloved figure in the gaming community.
Though Elder Scrolls VI is still years away, fans are thrilled to see their virtual grandma diving into Oblivion Remastered. With her cheerful personality and the support of her devoted followers, there’s no doubt she’ll master the game one step at a time—and likely bring a few generations of gamers along with her.
