Following a small leak last week, Electronic Arts (EA) has officially announced the title of its upcoming Star Wars game: Star Wars: Zero Company. This exciting new addition to the Star Wars gaming universe is being developed by the newly-formed strategy game studio, Bit Reactor, with support from Lucasfilm Games and Respawn.
Details about Star Wars: Zero Company are still scarce, but we know it will be a "single-player turn-based tactics game." Fans won't have to wait long for more information, as EA has scheduled a first look at the game on April 19 at Star Wars Celebration in Japan.
Bit Reactor, founded in 2022, is comprised of industry veterans who have worked on acclaimed titles such as XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. Although we've known for some time that Bit Reactor was collaborating with Respawn on a Star Wars game, this is the first official confirmation of the project's details.
The extent of Respawn's involvement remains somewhat unclear. The studio has faced its share of challenges recently, including the cancellation of its own Star Wars FPS project a year ago, alongside significant layoffs at EA, and the termination of another multiplayer FPS incubation project just last month.
