Star Wars: Hunters Shuts Down Before First Anniversary

Star Wars: Hunters has announced its shutdown before even reaching its first year, yet it will celebrate its one-year anniversary before the final closure. But is it really worth celebrating the anniversary of a game that's on its way out?

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are scheduled to shut down on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game's journey just nine months after its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5, as this is when the season concludes.

Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, is set to release one final content update on April 15th, introducing the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled, so make sure to use any unspent Crystals before then, as no refunds will be issued.

Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun, giving players a chance to enjoy the game's last moments.

It Isn’t Shocking

While it's disheartening, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters might not come as a surprise to many. The game faced numerous delays since its announcement in 2020, with beta tests limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions. The absence of major console support and a tepid reception contributed to its downfall.

From a design perspective, the game missed a golden opportunity by not featuring the iconic characters of the Star Wars universe, opting instead for generic original characters.

If you've uninstalled the game but want to give it one last go before the shutdown, you can still download it from the Google Play Store until October 1st, 2025.
