If you're new to the game, Stellar Mercenaries is an engaging vertical-scrolling action arcade space shooter where you embark on procedurally generated missions, customize your ships and weapons, and strive to become the most feared mercenary in the solar system.
What’s New in the Jupiter Expansion of Stellar Mercenaries?
The Jupiter Expansion transforms Jupiter and its moons—Ganymede, Io, and Europa—into diverse battlefields. Ganymede presents a barren wasteland, Io is engulfed in volcanic debris, Europa is a frozen and treacherous terrain, and Jupiter itself is notorious for its fierce storms.
Two new factions have emerged: the Jovian Empire, a formidable military force aiming to dominate the region, and the Pirate Council, a chaotic alliance of outlaws.
Players can now enjoy 50 new missions with diverse objectives, including hyperspace hunting to track down elusive targets, piracy missions, escort duties, and train defense scenarios.
The update introduces six new ships: the Raider, Goblin, Mako, Boxer, Lightning, and Skybreaker. Alongside these, new weapons like the Hyper Velocity Mortar, Plasma Seeker, EMP Rockets, Mauler Cannon, Electron Beam, and Neutron Beam have been added to the arsenal.
New Hazards, Shields, and More
The expansion brings Tier 4 shields and armor, enhancing your defensive capabilities. New hazards such as asteroid fields, elite enemy squadrons, and the formidable Pacifier add to the challenge. Some enemy mercenaries have been upgraded, introducing the Nightmare, Riot, and Warhawk classes.
