Supercell Seeks Talent for Clash of Clans Movie and TV Projects

Author : Aurora May 12,2025

Is Supercell gearing up to bring their flagship titles to the silver screen? It's more plausible than you might think. The Finnish mobile game giant, known for hits like Clash of Clans, is actively seeking a senior film and TV development executive. This move echoes the path taken by fellow Finnish developer Rovio, who successfully adapted their Angry Birds franchise into movies starting in 2016.

While it's not a done deal yet, our friends at PocketGamer.biz point out that the job description doesn't indicate an immediate green light for film projects. Instead, it emphasizes the need for developing a comprehensive strategy that encompasses live-action and animated films, as well as theatrical and streaming distribution. In simpler terms, this role is more about laying the groundwork and keeping an eye on potential future moves.

My guess? Supercell might already be sketching out preliminary plans should they decide to venture into the world of film and animation. With their recent forays into crossovers and collaborations, such as with WWE, it wouldn't be surprising if they're considering expanding their brand into new media.

Clash for the agesDespite the years that have passed since Clash of Clans first hit the market, it's worth remembering that the wildly successful Angry Birds movie came out about seven years after its game's launch. This suggests that even though time has elapsed, Clash of Clans still boasts a robust audience. Additionally, Supercell has newer IPs like Mo.co that could be perfect for a more family-oriented cinematic release.

We'll have to stay tuned to see how this unfolds. In the meantime, if you're looking for something to pass the time, why not explore our list of the top five new mobile games to try this week?
