Sid Meier’s Civilization VI on Android is receiving its most substantial update yet, finally aligning the mobile version with PC and console platforms. This comprehensive June 12 update will deliver all missing content, improvements, and features Android players have been waiting for.
New Units, Maps, Modes, and Significant Improvements
Aspyr's major update aims to provide mobile users with the full Civilization VI experience. Three formidable new units are joining the roster: The Trebuchet serves as a powerful Medieval-era siege weapon, bridging the gap between Catapults and Bombards. The Man-At-Arms evolves from Swordsmen and precedes Musketmen, while the Industrial-era Line Infantry becomes the new stepping stone between Musketmen and Infantry units.
The update introduces two expansive new maps: the Mediterranean Large Map and Earth Huge Map, both featuring enhanced geographic accuracy and resource distribution. Each offers historical start variants where civilizations begin in their real-world capital locations.
Among the exciting new gameplay options is the Tech and Civic Shuffle Mode, which randomizes research paths within historical eras. The Barbarian Clans Mode transforms nomadic tribes into seven distinct clans that can eventually establish City-States. Players will also appreciate two new customization tools - the Natural Wonder Picker and City-State Picker - plus a Leader Selection Pool that includes Julius Caesar.
Major Expansion Passes Finally Arrive on Android
June 12 also marks the Android debut of two premium expansions. The $29.99 New Frontier Pass delivers eight civilizations, nine leaders, and six game modes, while the $19.99 Leader Pass introduces 12 new leaders and six alternate versions of classic rulers. These additions complete Civilization VI's mobile offering.
The game is available for download on Google Play Store - prepare your empire for this groundbreaking update!
