Fans of the long-awaited sequel, *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2*, have encountered yet another delay, pushing the game's release to October 2025. This latest update, discreetly announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room, marks a slight shift from the earlier target of the first half of 2025. However, the news comes with a silver lining: the game is now complete.
According to Marco Behrmann, the Executive Producer of *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2*, the development team is currently focusing on "bug fixing, stability, and performance" to ensure the best possible experience at launch. While this delay adds to a series of postponements that have frustrated fans over the years, the accompanying video provides some encouraging updates. The Chinese Room has enhanced the game with additional content, deeper narrative elements, and improved character development. Notably, the character Fabien will play a more significant role in the storyline.
Despite the positive developments, the official *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2* X/Twitter account has announced that updates will be less frequent moving forward. The game's troubled development history dates back to its announcement in 2019 by original developer Hardsuit Labs, with an initial release planned for Q1 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the launch to late 2020, then to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit. In a significant change, Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, with the latest delay, the game is set to finally launch in October 2025.
While uncertainty looms over whether *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2* will meet its new release date, The Chinese Room remains optimistic. Looking ahead, Paradox has hinted that, should *Bloodlines 2* achieve a successful release, a different team might take on the development of a potential *Bloodlines 3*.
