One of Warhammer 40,000's greatest enduring mysteries has finally been resolved—though perhaps not in the way some fans had hoped. Through a newly released codex, Games Workshop has unveiled the true purpose of the long-debated Terminus Decree, a revelation that has left portions of the lore community less than thrilled.
For those unfamiliar, the Terminus Decree represents the final command given to the Grey Knights—arguably the most secretive Space Marine Chapter—just before the Emperor was interred within the Golden Throne. This followed His mortal wounding by the Warmaster Horus at the climax of the Horus Heresy.

The decree stipulates that only the Supreme Grand Master of the Grey Knights may unlock and learn the contents of this ultimate directive. Often described as a last-resort, break-glass-in-case-of-emergency measure, it has been the subject of intense speculation among Warhammer 40,000 enthusiasts for years.
Now, with the launch of the latest Grey Knights codex—a volume rich with background lore, miniature photography, and updated tabletop rules—Games Workshop has officially disclosed what the Terminus Decree actually contains.
