Crunchyroll Adds Stylish Samurai Showdown to Streaming Lineup

Crunchyroll Game Vault has expanded its mobile gaming library with another standout title—the one-hit-kill 2D fighter, Two Strikes. Emphasizing minimalist yet tense combat, the game offers a stylish samurai showdown experience. As part of the launch, a special addition is now available.

What’s the Story?

You take on the role of a warrior where a single well-placed strike can mean victory or defeat. Set in a fictionalized version of Japan's Sengoku Period in 1568, the game unfolds as Oda Nobunaga’s army marches toward Kyoto.

Samurai, warrior monks, peasants, and outlaws alike are trapped in a cycle of violence. In response, Shinigami, the God of Death, organizes a tournament for those who died with a burning thirst for revenge.

These souls now battle for a chance to return to the mortal realm and continue their path of destruction. The one who triumphs will earn the title Champion of the God of Death. Players can select from eight distinct warriors: Kenji, Tomoe, Hozoin, Goemon, Yasuke, Ayai, Miyo, and Shenyan.

Two Strikes features ink-wash black-and-white visuals, drawing deep inspiration from traditional Japanese art. These are complemented by fluid animations that make every duel a feast for the eyes. Check out the gameplay in the videos below.

The core gameplay focuses on mastering your character’s weapon, reading your opponent’s movements, and landing that one finishing blow. Strategic use of feints, parries, and positioning is key to gaining the advantage. Matches can be played in local multiplayer, online cross-platform battles, or solo against AI opponents.

A Surprise Addition at Launch

The mobile version introduces a special guest character—Baki Hanma from the Baki Hanma series makes his debut as a playable fighter. He arrives with his own stage and an original music track composed by Ben Hung.

However, his inclusion is a limited-time exclusive for Crunchyroll Game Vault subscribers, available only until August 28. If you’re a Crunchyroll member, be sure to download Two Strikes from the Google Play Store right away.
