In the highly anticipated cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans of From Software's signature poisonous swamps will be in for a surprise. According to the project’s product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, these infamous swamps will not feature in the game. This revelation came during a candid discussion with journalists, shedding light on a significant departure from the developer's traditional design elements.
Although a swamp-like area was showcased in the *Elden Ring Nightreign* trailer, Kitao clarified that it represents a completely different location. The absence of the poisonous swamps is attributed to the non-involvement of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is renowned for his affinity for such environments. It is Miyazaki’s influence that has ensured the inclusion of swamp areas in both *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series. However, he did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

In other news, there's a glimmer of hope for fans of cooperative gameplay. While *Elden Ring Nightreign* has so far been announced to include one-player and three-player modes, there's a potential addition of a two-player mode. Initially, the developers cited content balancing challenges as the reason for excluding a two-player option. However, From Software is now actively considering the inclusion of this mode, though no final decision has been confirmed yet.
Mark your calendars: *Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC as well as two generations of consoles. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new title.
