- Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (Japan) and Dragon Quest of the Stars will shut down on October 31st
- Brave Exvius will launch a Grand Finale Campaign and introduce a Memorial Version
- Dragon Quest of the Stars will conclude its Demon Star Gods storyline with final events
Square Enix continues its pattern of closing mobile games, with two long-running RPGs now reaching their end. The Japanese versions of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Dragon Quest of the Stars will both cease operations on October 31st, bringing years of content and collaborations to a close.
The shutdown of Brave Exvius is particularly significant, as this represents the final version of the game still running. With the global edition having closed last year, the upcoming Japanese closure truly marks the end of a series that once felt like a mobile gaming staple.

To ease the disappointment, Square Enix will host a Grand Finale Campaign to thank players, followed by a special Memorial Version after service ends. While unlikely to offer traditional gameplay, this version should serve as an offline gallery, allowing fans to revisit memories from its ten-year history.
Meanwhile, Dragon Quest of the Stars is approaching its finale with a celebratory send-off. Before the October shutdown, Square Enix is releasing a series of final events to properly conclude the story.

The concluding scenario features the return of iconic bosses and wraps up the Demon Star Gods narrative. Players can also obtain new gear inspired by the Demon Star Gods' evolved forms, witness the final Hugmetal equipment awaken into Metakin, and participate in anniversary campaigns celebrating the game's decade of operation.
While it's a bittersweet conclusion for both games, Japanese fans will at least enjoy one final celebration before the servers go offline. For longtime players, October will undoubtedly feel like the end of an era.
