Devil May Cry 5 has surpassed the remarkable sales milestone of 10 million units, with Capcom crediting its recent Netflix animated series for providing the final sales boost.

Originally launching in March 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, DMC 5 received widespread acclaim from both players and critics. IGN's review scored it 9.5/10, praising: "Devil May Cry 5's outstanding trio of combat styles raises the series' bar, while its intriguing narrative keeps players engaged."

Six years later, the game stands as one of Capcom's biggest successes. "The title has maintained strong player engagement through its exceptional gameplay, sustaining steady catalog sales since launch," the company stated.

"Capcom enhanced the game's storytelling and action mechanics by introducing a new playable character, followed by the April 2025 Netflix animated series as part of their Single Content Multiple Usage strategy.

"The anime adaptation garnered global critical praise, ranking fourth worldwide in Netflix's 'English Shows' category with over 5.3 million views during its premiere week, while maintaining a top 10 position in Japan for seven consecutive days. Thanks to the game's thrilling combat and expanded brand visibility through multimedia adaptations, worldwide cumulative sales have now crossed 10 million units."

With Devil May Cry 5's success (the franchise has sold over 33 million units since its 2001 debut), attention turns to Devil May Cry 6's potential release. Given DMC5's 10-million sales achievement within six years, a sequel appears inevitable if not already in development.
