Snapchat's 2024 Year in Review: Your Snap Recap is Here!
Looking back on the year? Many apps offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap is now available.
What is a Snap Recap?
Unlike last year, Snapchat introduces its first-ever Snap Recap for 2024. Similar to Spotify Wrapped or Twitch recaps, it compiles your year's Snaps into a fun highlight reel. Instead of detailed statistics, however, Snap Recap showcases a single Snap from each month. It's a nostalgic journey through your 2024 memories, rather than a data-driven analysis. The recap seamlessly transitions into the Memories feature, allowing you to explore flashbacks from previous years.
Accessing Your 2024 Snap Recap
Your 2024 Snap Recap is automatically generated and easily accessible. On the main camera screen, swipe up to open Memories (don't press the shutter button). Your 2024 Snap Recap will be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.
Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to begin. The selected Snaps will play automatically; tap the screen to advance through them. You can save, edit, share, or even add your recap to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private unless you choose to share it.
Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?
If your 2024 Snap Recap is missing, it may be due to the staggered rollout. Snapchat states that several factors determine recap eligibility, including the number of saved Snaps. Infrequent Snapchat usage might also be a contributing factor. Unfortunately, if it doesn't appear after some time, you can't request one.
